The media reported today that "on suspicion of sabotage, the Federal Police in Kiel inspected the cargo ship Arne, which was flying the flag of Antigua and Barbuda. As the investigation is ongoing, a spokesperson for the federal police said they did not wish to comment on possible findings.
According to the Kieler Nachrichten newspaper, the vessel was travelling from St Petersburg in Russia to Seville in Spain. It is possible that the ship damaged an underground data cable near the Swedish island of Gotland.
After questioning the crew, the vessel was able to continue its journey through the Kiel Canal on Friday.
According to the newspaper, the vessel was suspected of involvement in the breakdown of a communication cable near the Swedish island of Gotland in the Baltic Sea. If a vessel loses one anchor, it can technically continue to move. In the case of the Russian tanker, two anchors were lost at once. Magic, huh?
But back to the point - I suggest asking questions and answering them, because this is how we will get to the truth faster
Why would a tanker drop its anchor?
If this is sabotage, sabotage, then we have a deliberate destruction of the underwater infrastructure that is carried out in this way:
The anchor is dropped at the right point, breaking the subsea cables;
The vessel pretends to continue moving to hide its intentions;
After successful sabotage, the anchor is "lost" and the evidence disappears;

If it is a simulated accident to distract attention, then the ship deliberately drops the anchor, creating the appearance of an "accident", but at the same time another Russian ship in another location is conducting real sabotage.
However, even this does not guarantee that no one will guess what really happened. It is only necessary to analyse the routes of not only the Arne, but also other Russian vessels in the region, plus compare satellite images to identify suspiciousness

Yes, you can lie about a strong current or storm.
But then there's the boom again - then the ship should have sent a distress call
You can say that there was a malfunction of a chain or mechanism
But then you're fucked again, because the question arises - why did the ship continue without repair? The captain had an agreement with Neptune - no excuse
However, everything can be found out and checked. All you need to do is examine the pressure on the anchor during the voyage (there are digital load sensors) + carefully review the ship's maintenance records before setting sail.
And now about the money or the consequences of losing the anchor:
It is forbidden to enter most ports in the world without a serviceable anchor. This is done for safety reasons - so that your vessel does not beat up other vessels in the event of a storm and so that the port does not pay for all this
Insurance companies are not stupid either - they can refuse to cover losses if something happened to the ship and it was without anchor, and they also monitor whether the shipowner has had similar "losses" in the past. Because millions are at stake, which the insurance company may be forced to pay, and it really doesn't want to do it
Moral. Either someone in Germany is completely stupid because they let the crew of the ship go, which fucked up two anchors, or we are missing something
