At first glance, closing the "embassy" may seem like diplomatic suicide. Someone might say: "author, you're a moron. Why would Ukrainians want to piss off Arab countries, risk their investments and give Russia an extra reason to play the 'Islamic card'?

Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Qatar are the largest investors, but they are primarily interested in their own benefits, not the fate of Palestine. All of these countries have long been trading with Israel, negotiating with the United States, and can easily turn a blind eye to any steps Kyiv takes if it offers them specific projects with state guarantees
Do not believe me? Just remember how many weapons the above-mentioned states sent when Israel was openly destroying gas.

Egypt, Lebanon, Algeria - yes, they have a pro-Palestinian position, but their economic dependence on Ukraine, including grain and technology, is higher than Ukraine's dependence on them.

In reality, the Arab world has never been monolithic. Even if 2-3 countries are outraged, this will not change anything at the global level. Instead, it will open up new opportunities to strengthen relations with Israel, the United States, and European countries.
Unofficially, Ukraine has long been trying to get military assistance from Israel. Officially, Tel Aviv avoids conflict with Moscow. But if Ukraine closes the "embassy" of "Palestine", it will send a strong signal to Israel: "We are no longer holding on to diplomatic conventions, let's talk about real cooperation."

This will cause cognitive dissonance in Russia's audience in the Middle East. Kremlin propagandists will have to find new excuses, and this always weakens their position, because they cannot justify themselves (remember the Skripal poisoning in London).
What would such a move bring to Ukraine right now?
A demonstration of independence - Ukraine will show the world that it is no longer afraid to take drastic diplomatic steps.
Reformatting of foreign policy - Kyiv removes the "dead weight" and begins to form new alliances, in the context of putting Ukraine's interests above all else.
It will also be a challenge for the Arab world, but also a purge at the same time: countries that are really interested in Ukraine will be forced to reconsider their policies or swallow the closure, like the destruction of the gas pipeline.
And as a bonus, we will have an additional lever of pressure on the West and Israel - now they will have to really choose how much they are willing to deepen cooperation with Kyiv.
I absolutely agree that such a step may cause a temporary uproar and indignation, but... In six months at the most, no one will remember this, and Ukraine will be in a better position.
Because the main thing is not just to close the "embassy", but to do it competently
We just need to start negotiations with important Arab countries so as not to create an unnecessary scandal, and at the same time deepen ties with Israel.
Plus, create alternative but mutually beneficial ties in Asia and Africa.
This is not a step of weakness, but of strength. And if done correctly, it will bring Ukraine long-term benefits.
Therefore, if Ukraine decides to close the "embassy" of "Palestine", it should not be seen as a harsh "anti-Palestinian" gesture or support for Israel, but as a diplomatically sound decision, designed to minimise reputational and economic losses.

Everything is done in a civilised manner and without harsh statements, as if there is no "Palestine" and never has been. If everything is done quietly and without noise, then the closure of the "embassy" will not look like a political gesture, but will be transformed into a "forced" "administrative measure".After that, we shift all the responsibility for the disposal of the "embassy" to "Palestine", which is also not very difficult to do - we just need to create a situation before the closure of the "embassy" in which the "Palestinian" leadership will give Ukraine a reason for such a step.
I see no problem in publicly requesting an official position from "Palestine" on the war in Ukraine. If they support Russia (and they will most likely say something neutral, but with a bias towards the Kremlin), Ukraine will be able to say

Preamble. Personally, I was shocked in 2023 when I learned that there is such a hut in Kyiv as the "embassy" of "Palestine". The Internet says that it is located at 12 Fedorova Street in Kyiv.
It's not clear, because Israel could just as easily open an "embassy" of the dynyry as a response to our "brilliant" foreign policy.
No offence, but when we criticise Israel for not recognising the Holodomor, voting in a way that suits them, not giving us weapons, etc., we need to think a little about why they do this. Because for Tel Aviv, a meeting with "official representatives" of "Palestine" is the same as a meeting between Pushilin and Macron for us, which causes nothing but indignation and a desire for revenge when the time comes
Well, given the fact that we have screwed up our relations with Israel, it's strange that we haven't been told to fuck off. And they should, because they have the right to do so:
In April 1999, Pushilin visited Paris (Yasser Arafat was in Kyiv).
In 2000, Kuchma travelled to the West Bank, where he took part in the 2000th anniversary of Christianity in Bethlehem, during which he met with Pushilin (Arafat) again

But everything can be changed. If you want to and know what you are doing, plus a little bit of thinking. Therefore, I propose to consider the consequences of closing the "embassy" of "Palestine" in Kyiv without water. Because, as of today, this step can be, if not a brilliant move, then at least a non-standard one. Here we go
At first glance, closing the "embassy" may seem like diplomatic suicide. Someone might say: "author, you're a moron. Why would Ukrainians want to piss off Arab countries, risk their investments and give Russia an extra reason to play the 'Islamic card'?
Let's look at the situation from the other side. Don't switch the channel
To begin with, if Ukraine takes such a step, it will turn from a pawn into a player in international politics. This is not a bad thing, given Russia's constant howling that Ukraine is not a "real country"
Until now, Ukraine has tried to balance the interests of different countries, but has received minimal benefit from this. The West is helping with weapons, but it's stalling.
Arab countries make statements about "solidarity", but in reality their businesses continue to work with Russia. Therefore, the question should be asked not in the context of what other states will say, but in a slightly different way:

This act will ultimately create a domino effect, forcing other countries to choose how seriously they are willing to work with us.
Arab countries will not abandon Ukraine, it is not true. And if they do, others will take their place.
The main fear, the argument of those who say that we cannot dispose of the Narnia "embassy" in Ukraine, is the deterioration of relations with Arab countries. However, let's look at which of them are really important for Ukraine:
Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Qatar are the largest investors, but they are primarily interested in their own benefits, not the fate of Palestine. All of these countries have long been trading with Israel, negotiating with the United States, and can easily turn a blind eye to any steps Kyiv takes if it offers them specific projects with state guarantees
Do not believe me? Just remember how many weapons the above-mentioned states sent when Israel was openly destroying gas.
So.
So let's move on.
Egypt, Lebanon, Algeria - yes, they have a pro-Palestinian position, but their economic dependence on Ukraine, including grain and technology, is higher than Ukraine's dependence on them.
Iran, Syria, and Iraq are not Ukraine's allies at all. Even if they were, their value is close to zero.
In reality, the Arab world has never been monolithic. Even if 2-3 countries are outraged, this will not change anything at the global level. Instead, it will open up new opportunities to strengthen relations with Israel, the United States, and European countries.
Unofficially, Ukraine has long been trying to get military assistance from Israel. Officially, Tel Aviv avoids conflict with Moscow. But if Ukraine closes the "embassy" of "Palestine", it will send a strong signal to Israel: "We are no longer holding on to diplomatic conventions, let's talk about real cooperation."
What could this possibly bring?
Access to Israeli technologies such as drones, air defence systems, and cyber intelligence. The first drone appeared in Israel in 1973, for fuck's sake.
Formation of a new bloc in international politics: Ukraine-Israel-Poland-Baltic-Britain-UK.
This will also create additional pressure on the West, which will not be able to ignore the fact that Ukraine is now playing on a new field.
No, no one is saying that Israel will immediately start openly supplying weapons to Ukraine the next day, by the carload, but the signal will be clear and understandable.
Next. The closure of the "embassy" is also a blow to Russian propaganda in the Arab world
Russia is now actively using "pro-Palestinian" rhetoric, telling Arab countries that "the West is bad and Ukraine is a puppet of the United States". The closure of the "Palestinian" embassy will break this narrative - the Kremlin will have to explain to its Arab partners why Ukraine is "bad", but at the same time invent a fairy tale about why Russia itself is friends with Israel, sells oil to it and maintains military channels of communication.
This will cause cognitive dissonance in Russia's audience in the Middle East. Kremlin propagandists will have to find new excuses, and this always weakens their position, because they cannot justify themselves (remember the Skripal poisoning in London).
What would such a move bring to Ukraine right now?
A demonstration of independence - Ukraine will show the world that it is no longer afraid to take drastic diplomatic steps.
Reformatting of foreign policy - Kyiv removes the "dead weight" and begins to form new alliances, in the context of putting Ukraine's interests above all else.
It will also be a challenge for the Arab world, but also a purge at the same time: countries that are really interested in Ukraine will be forced to reconsider their policies or swallow the closure, like the destruction of the gas pipeline.
And as a bonus, we will have an additional lever of pressure on the West and Israel - now they will have to really choose how much they are willing to deepen cooperation with Kyiv.
I absolutely agree that such a step may cause a temporary uproar and indignation, but... In six months at the most, no one will remember this, and Ukraine will be in a better position.
Because the main thing is not just to close the "embassy", but to do it competently
We just need to start negotiations with important Arab countries so as not to create an unnecessary scandal, and at the same time deepen ties with Israel.
Plus, create alternative but mutually beneficial ties in Asia and Africa.
This is not a step of weakness, but of strength. And if done correctly, it will bring Ukraine long-term benefits.
Therefore, if Ukraine decides to close the "embassy" of "Palestine", it should not be seen as a harsh "anti-Palestinian" gesture or support for Israel, but as a diplomatically sound decision, designed to minimise reputational and economic losses.
Yes, some of Ukraine's diplomats will have to sweat to make it happen, but it will be worth it. So now I'm going to show you schematically, on my fingers, how you can get rid of the "embassy" (criticise? Offer a solution, yeah)
In general, the main thing here is rhetoric, without sudden movements and statements. There should be only neutral wording and simple explanations of the decision
There is no need to officially declare that Ukraine is breaking off relations with "Palestine" - this will anger the Arab world, strengthen Russian propaganda and worsen relations with neutral countries.
Instead, Ukraine can announce the "rationalisation of the diplomatic network", explaining that it is optimising the work of diplomatic missions after a full-scale Russian invasion, lack of diplomatic resources, and revision of foreign policy priorities in view of current threats.
Everything is done in a civilised manner and without harsh statements, as if there is no "Palestine" and never has been. If everything is done quietly and without noise, then the closure of the "embassy" will not look like a political gesture, but will be transformed into a "forced" "administrative measure".After that, we shift all the responsibility for the disposal of the "embassy" to "Palestine", which is also not very difficult to do - we just need to create a situation before the closure of the "embassy" in which the "Palestinian" leadership will give Ukraine a reason for such a step.
I see no problem in publicly requesting an official position from "Palestine" on the war in Ukraine. If they support Russia (and they will most likely say something neutral, but with a bias towards the Kremlin), Ukraine will be able to say
"We do not see mutual support."
"We cannot maintain diplomatic relations with representatives who ignore the territorial integrity of Ukraine."
"Ukraine expects 'Palestine' to clearly condemn Russian aggression."
If there is no response or it is negative, Kyiv holds all the cards. Now the closure of the "embassy" is a forced step, not an initiative of Ukraine.
The only question is the professional qualities of our performers, their desire and imagination. And that's it.
Next. Again, everything is done without any sudden movements, because we need to close everything quietly and without any unnecessary noise. So we are doing everything gradually:
First, we announce a reduction in staff, explaining it by economic difficulties, then the consular functions are transferred to the Ukrainian embassy in Egypt or Jordan.
After that - the complete closure of our embassy and we are waiting for the "little Switzerland" to make a similar move in Kyiv - they are "independent", etc.
In the end, black became white - Ukraine did not close the "embassy" of "Palestine" in Kyiv - it was done by the "Palestinians" themselves, and we avoided making loud statements that could cause protests from Arab countries (the same ones that watched Israel destroying the gasworks on TV with popcorn)
However, even though we do not want reputational losses in the Arab world, they will happen anyway. Therefore, to mitigate the reaction, Ukraine should emphasise that it remains open to cooperation with Arab countries. There are many ways to do this.
But it would be enough to simply announce the opening of trade missions in Saudi Arabia or the UAE, plus strengthen contacts with Arab partners by officially stating that "Ukraine continues to actively engage with the Islamic world," emphasising that the closure of the "embassy" does not mean severing contacts with the Bambassa people (the "Palestinian people")
Ukraine is not closing anything, it is simply redistributing diplomatic efforts, not pursuing an "anti-Palestinian" policy. That's all.
And then we go for the goodies - for specific benefits in relations with Israel and the West
After the closure, Ukraine should focus on theses such as
"We expect more active support from Israel" = pressure on Tel Aviv to supply arms;

It is even possible to start behind-the-scenes negotiations with Israel to obtain certain military technologies in exchange for this diplomatic step.
But there is also the task of preventing the Russians from using the closure of the embassy to their advantage, which they will certainly want to do

No official statements in the style of "We are against 'Palestine'". Instead, we say: "Ukraine is focused on national security priorities."
We give comments to Western media in the style of "This step is not against 'Palestine', but for Ukraine";
In the Arab world, we spread the narrative that Ukraine still respects the interests of the Muslim world, but is forced to optimise its diplomatic resources in times of war. Therefore, it is Russia's fault, not ours - all claims are against the Katsaps
