Semantic war with the EU. Part one
Preamble. The European Union today faces one of the most serious challenges in its history - not external, but internal. Ideologically cohesive forces from Central Europe - Hungary and Poland - with the support of influential American right-wing conservative think tanks, including the Heritage Foundation, are pushing a plan that would effectively eliminate the EU's supranational structure.
Their goal is not just to reform, but to restart the system in the format of the "European Community of Nations" (ECN), where the European Commission and the European Court of Justice will either disappear or be reduced to purely technical services. The principle of supranational rule of law will be dismantled in favour of "national sovereignty".
The Heritage Foundation is one of the most influential right-wing conservative think tanks in the United States. In 2023-2024, it developed and promoted Project 2025, a programme for the complete dismantling of the American administrative state. At the same time, the foundation began active foreign policy expansion into Europe, cooperating with far-right, Eurosceptic organisations.
Their activities demonstrate an attempt to export Trumpism to Europe - with its characteristic features: anti-globalism, anti-institutionalism, anti-environmentalism, anti-migrant rhetoric and, in some cases, absolute tolerance for Kremlin narratives.
MCC (Matthias Corwin Collegium). This tent is run by Viktor Orban's political director Balázs Orban.
The budget is more than $1.3 billion, a significant part of which is the profits from the Hungarian oil and gas company MOL, which, in turn, imports 65% of its oil from Russia.

The MCC also has its own Brussels-based media outlet, The European Conservative, which, according to a ZDF investigation, used a journalist with ties to the pro-Russian Voice of Europe channel and Russian special services
Ordo Iuris (Poland) is a conservative Catholic think tank with close ties to the Law and Justice party. It has been accused of infringing on the rights of women and LGBT people, as well as of collaborating with the Agenda Europe network and the World Congress of Families, which is linked to Russian oligarch Konstantin Malofeev (also pro-traditional values)
The centre claims independence, but actively promotes an agenda similar to Russian "traditionalism".
And now for the most interesting part. The document titled "The Great Reset: Restoring the Sovereignty of Nation States in the 21st Century", prepared by the MCC and Ordo Iuris and presented by the Heritage Foundation on 11 March 2025, contains the following proposals:
Eliminate the European Commission as a political body and leave only a technical apparatus.
Deprive the European Court of Justice of the ability to intervene in national legal systems.
Abolish the offence mechanisms used against countries that violate the rule of law.
Rename the European Union into the "European Community of Nations" (ECN) - conceptually similar to the CIS (made up of independent states)
This is in fact dismantling the EU under the guise of "restoring sovereignty".
Both organisations, MCC and Ordo Iuris, have direct or indirect financial and ideological ties to Russia:
MCC is funded through the profits of MOL, a company dependent on Russian oil.
The Ordo Iuris, in turn, has a history of cooperation with global networks supported and funded by the Kremlin.
In 2022, John Loughland, a visiting scholar at the MCC, was detained in Britain on suspicion of spying for Russia.
The MCC journalist worked for the Voice of Europe, a Kremlin-run channel that has been shut down by EU counterintelligence.
As you can see, the "anti-European front" of Orban and the Polish right has a clear energy and financial connection with Moscow.
Now, a little about the risks for the European Union, assuming that the above-mentioned structures succeed:
Loss of common leadership and common rules
Weakening of legal mechanisms for protecting democratic norms and freedoms (restrictions on freedom of speech, reduced independence of the courts, prohibition of peaceful protests, etc.)
Reduced ability of the EU to resist external influences, including Russia's hybrid warfare.
Energy and political dependence of a number of EU members on Moscow through agents of influence, such as Orban, Fico, etc.
Kevin Roberts, President of the Heritage Foundation, said: "We're ready to lead the world again... It's time to restore the spirit of nation-states."
At the same time, Trump is declaring a tariff war with the EU, supporting Orban, and meeting with populists such as Philip Turek (who is associated with neo-Nazis). In fact, a new alliance of politicians who do not support democracy and freedoms is already forming, and this alliance stretches from Hungary (Budapest) to the United States (Washington).
And it is happening in broad daylight
The paradox and grotesqueness of the situation is that the EU's democratic mechanisms can be used to dismantle the EU itself:
The parties that receive mandates, funding, seats in parliament, and form coalitions are simultaneously advocating the destruction of the fundamental institutions of the union, while the Heritage Foundation plays the role of a "think tank", the MCC - "purse", and the Ordo Iuris - "lawyer".Therefore, before it is too late, the European Parliament, the European Commission and the member states should revise the rules of lobbying, funding of think tanks and influential structures. Especially those that profit from Russian energy resources.
This union was created not for the sake of good ideas, but to have more power, control over resources and return to the old "glorious" times when each country lived on its own, without common rules.
Heritage, MCC, Ordo Iuris are groups that promote old-fashioned, rigid views. They fight not with weapons, but with words, ideas and memes on the Internet to change people's minds. They want to make democracy unpopular, freedom ineffective and solidarity suspect.
This is a test of strength for Europe. If it can be destroyed by memes and fake news with olgino greased by oil revenues, then it was not that strong after all.

Semantic war with the EU. Part one
Preamble. The European Union today faces one of the most serious challenges in its history - not external, but internal. Ideologically cohesive forces from Central Europe - Hungary and Poland - with the support of influential American right-wing conservative think tanks, including the Heritage Foundation, are pushing a plan that would effectively eliminate the EU's supranational structure.
Their goal is not just to reform, but to restart the system in the format of the "European Community of Nations" (ECN), where the European Commission and the European Court of Justice will either disappear or be reduced to purely technical services. The principle of supranational rule of law will be dismantled in favour of "national sovereignty".
The Heritage Foundation is one of the most influential right-wing conservative think tanks in the United States. In 2023-2024, it developed and promoted Project 2025, a programme for the complete dismantling of the American administrative state. At the same time, the foundation began active foreign policy expansion into Europe, cooperating with far-right, Eurosceptic organisations.
Their activities demonstrate an attempt to export Trumpism to Europe - with its characteristic features: anti-globalism, anti-institutionalism, anti-environmentalism, anti-migrant rhetoric and, in some cases, absolute tolerance for Kremlin narratives.
MCC (Matthias Corwin Collegium). This tent is run by Viktor Orban's political director Balázs Orban.
The budget is more than $1.3 billion, a significant part of which is the profits from the Hungarian oil and gas company MOL, which, in turn, imports 65% of its oil from Russia.

The MCC also has its own Brussels-based media outlet, The European Conservative, which, according to a ZDF investigation, used a journalist with ties to the pro-Russian Voice of Europe channel and Russian special services
Ordo Iuris (Poland) is a conservative Catholic think tank with close ties to the Law and Justice party. It has been accused of infringing on the rights of women and LGBT people, as well as of collaborating with the Agenda Europe network and the World Congress of Families, which is linked to Russian oligarch Konstantin Malofeev (also pro-traditional values)
The centre claims independence, but actively promotes an agenda similar to Russian "traditionalism".
And now for the most interesting part. The document titled "The Great Reset: Restoring the Sovereignty of Nation States in the 21st Century", prepared by the MCC and Ordo Iuris and presented by the Heritage Foundation on 11 March 2025, contains the following proposals:
Eliminate the European Commission as a political body and leave only a technical apparatus.
Deprive the European Court of Justice of the ability to intervene in national legal systems.
Abolish the offence mechanisms used against countries that violate the rule of law.
Rename the European Union into the "European Community of Nations" (ECN) - conceptually similar to the CIS (made up of independent states)
This is in fact dismantling the EU under the guise of "restoring sovereignty".
Both organisations, MCC and Ordo Iuris, have direct or indirect financial and ideological ties to Russia:
MCC is funded through the profits of MOL, a company dependent on Russian oil.
The Ordo Iuris, in turn, has a history of cooperation with global networks supported and funded by the Kremlin.
In 2022, John Loughland, a visiting scholar at the MCC, was detained in Britain on suspicion of spying for Russia.
The MCC journalist worked for the Voice of Europe, a Kremlin-run channel that has been shut down by EU counterintelligence.
As you can see, the "anti-European front" of Orban and the Polish right has a clear energy and financial connection with Moscow.
Now, a little about the risks for the European Union, assuming that the above-mentioned structures succeed:
Loss of common leadership and common rules
Weakening of legal mechanisms for protecting democratic norms and freedoms (restrictions on freedom of speech, reduced independence of the courts, prohibition of peaceful protests, etc.)
Reduced ability of the EU to resist external influences, including Russia's hybrid warfare.
Energy and political dependence of a number of EU members on Moscow through agents of influence, such as Orban, Fico, etc.
Kevin Roberts, President of the Heritage Foundation, said: "We're ready to lead the world again... It's time to restore the spirit of nation-states."
At the same time, Trump is declaring a tariff war with the EU, supporting Orban, and meeting with populists such as Philip Turek (who is associated with neo-Nazis). In fact, a new alliance of politicians who do not support democracy and freedoms is already forming, and this alliance stretches from Hungary (Budapest) to the United States (Washington).
And it is happening in broad daylight
The paradox and grotesqueness of the situation is that the EU's democratic mechanisms can be used to dismantle the EU itself:
The parties that receive mandates, funding, seats in parliament, and form coalitions are simultaneously advocating the destruction of the fundamental institutions of the union, while the Heritage Foundation plays the role of a "think tank", the MCC - "purse", and the Ordo Iuris - "lawyer".Therefore, before it is too late, the European Parliament, the European Commission and the member states should revise the rules of lobbying, funding of think tanks and influential structures. Especially those that profit from Russian energy resources.
This union was created not for the sake of good ideas, but to have more power, control over resources and return to the old "glorious" times when each country lived on its own, without common rules.
Heritage, MCC, Ordo Iuris are groups that promote old-fashioned, rigid views. They fight not with weapons, but with words, ideas and memes on the Internet to change people's minds. They want to make democracy unpopular, freedom ineffective and solidarity suspect.
This is a test of strength for Europe. If it can be destroyed by memes and fake news with olgino greased by oil revenues, then it was not that strong after all.
